Wired Whisker Volunteer Agreement *

By signing below, I, the volunteer (or volunteer’s legal guardian), acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Wired Whisker Volunteer Agreement (the “Agreement”) in consideration of my participation as volunteer for Wired Whisker, LLC (“Wired Whisker”). 1. Policies and Safety Rules. I agree to abide by all Wired Whisker’s volunteer policies, safety protocols, conduct expectations, and directives. I acknowledge that Wired Whisker maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination, harassment, or violence. I commit to treating fellow volunteers, Wired Whisker staff, patrons, and all cats with the utmost respect. I understand that failing to comply may lead to the termination of my volunteer status. 2. Volunteer Not an Employee. I understand that as a volunteer for Wired Whisker, (a) I am not considered an employee, (b) I will not receive monetary compensation for my services, and (c) I am not entitled to any form of insurance, healthcare, worker’s compensation, or other benefits from Wired Whisker. My volunteer position can be terminated by Wired Whisker at any time, with or without cause. 3. Assumption of Risk. I recognize that volunteering at Wired Whisker and interacting with cats entails certain risks. These may include, but are not limited to, animal bites or scratches, allergies, accidents caused by animals, slips, falls, and other similar incidents. I am aware that these risks could result in personal injury, illness, death, or damage to my property. Despite these risks, I voluntarily choose to volunteer at Wired Whisker and accept all responsibility for these risks, understanding that they may arise from my own actions or those of others, and that they may occur within Wired Whisker’s premises or during related activities. 4. Waiver and Release of Claims. I hereby waive and release Wired Whisker, its directors, officers, agents, employees, volunteers, and affiliates from any liability, claims, costs, and expenses that I, or my heirs, may have now or in the future, as a result of my volunteer activities. This waiver includes all claims related to the aforementioned risks, regardless of cause, and even if arising from negligence. I agree not to pursue any legal action against Wired Whisker or its affiliates based on these claims. 5. Confidentiality. I understand that during my volunteer activities, I may have access to confidential information related to Wired Whisker’s operations, including personal details of volunteers, staff, and patrons. I pledge to use this information solely for the purpose of fulfilling my volunteer duties and to take reasonable measures to protect its confidentiality, both during and after my volunteer tenure. 6. Assignment of Work Product. Any materials, including reports, digital content, photographs, videos, and other works created by me during my volunteer service, will become the property of Wired Whisker. Wired Whisker reserves the right to use these materials without restriction or further consent from me. 7. Use of My Name and Image by Wired Whisker. I consent to Wired Whisker’s use of my image, voice, name, and any created works for promotional, educational, or fundraising purposes across various media channels without prior approval or compensation. I waive any rights to these materials, including intellectual property, publicity, privacy, and agree to not bring any claims against Wired Whisker related to the use of these materials. 8. General Provisions. This Agreement is effective for the duration of my volunteer service at Wired Whisker and is governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. It will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law. Should any part of this Agreement be deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.

I affirm that I am of legal age and able to sign on my own behalf and am freely signing this Agreement. I have read this Agreement and fully understand that by signing this Agreement, I am giving up legal rights and remedies that may be available to me and to other persons.

I affirm that I am the parent or legal guardian of the volunteer named below and am freely signing this document on their behalf. I certify that I have the authority to sign on behalf of the volunteer and to make decisions for the participant regarding volunteering. I also waive and release Wired Whisker Parties from any and all liability, claims, costs, and damages of any kind which I may have resulting or arising directly or indirectly from the volunteer’s participation in volunteering. I have read this Agreement and fully understand that by signing this Agreement, I am giving up legal rights and remedies that may be available to the participant, to me, and to other persons.
