General Visitor FAQs

  • A cat cafe operates similarly to a coffee shop, but with a twist. Cat cafes are typically mission-driven and house rescue cats (often adoptable) on the premises. Visitors of a cat cafe can enjoy a coffee or tea while interacting with resident cats.

  • Wired Whisker offers a unique, relaxing environment where you can de-stress, enjoy top-notch beverages, and hang out with some pretty awesome cats. We also operate as advocates for the well-being of rescue cats, and every bag of coffee brewed at the cafe or purchased retail gives a percentage right back to our local animal rescues!

  • Visiting our cafe does not cost anything and operates like most other coffee shops you may have visited. To enter the cat lounge where our adoptable rescue cats are, there is a nominal fee which covers the cost of care for our visiting felines and can be paid for online when booking time in the cat lounge or in-person at our ordering counter.

  • Most cat cafes implement a nominal entry fee for the cat lounge area primarily to ensure the highest quality of care and a serene environment for the cats. This fee helps cover the costs associated with their well-being and a clean, enriching habitat. Additionally, it supports adequate staffing to maintain a safe, controlled number of visitors in the lounge, ensuring both the cats and guests have a positive, stress-free experience. This approach allows Wired Whisker to sustainably manage the cat lounge, balancing the needs of the cats with the enjoyment of the visitors.

  • We will serve a range of coffees, teas, smoothies, and light bites like croissants, bagels, and muffins.

  • Yes! Cat cafes are held to immensely high standards of cleanliness, just as any other cafe, but perhaps even more so due to cats living on the premises. These standards are important, and ensure the comfort and health of both cats and customers.

  • If your allergies are not severe, we hope you will join us on the cafe side! You are supporting our cats with every cup of coffee, and you will have a great view into the cat lounge while still on the cafe side.

  • All service animals will have to be left on the cafe side (front of building seating) out of sight from our cat lounge as some cats may be reactive to seeing other animals and redirect aggression towards other cats or visitors in the lounge. If a visitor would like to enter the cat lounge, service dogs should be left with someone who can take care of them on the cafe side while the owner goes into the cat room (with a booking).
